Margaret Hilda Roberts was born in Grantham, Lincolnshire , on October 13, 1925. She undertook the local political business enterprise in her from the experiences of her father. Margaret’s intent was to be able to reach the candidacy for a seat in Parliament. In Dicember 1951 she married Denis Thatcher. In the general election of 1959, Margaret Thatcher became a member of the House of Commons for
Finchley. In the 1970 general election, the Conservatives won a majority in Parliament and Edward Heath appointed Margaret as Secretary
of State for Education and Science. With the cuts in spending on the Department of Education, Margaret was forced to eliminate the milk in schools that was given free to all children between seven and eleven years, leading the public to give it the nickname «Milk snatcher».
